First beach I visited on the west coast! Parking wasn’t expensive. The pier was nice. Beach was beautiful. Overall good experience.
Great place to fish. I flew in for a business trip and took two poles. The pier is cool because they have pole holders. There is a liquor store like right by the parking area on the Northside that sells frozen squid and other bait. Parking is 6 bucks for the day. There is also a sink at the end of the pier for cleanup if needed.
They say it’s a fishing pier, though as a visitors guide, I just refer to it as the Venice Pier for short.
There were the usual anglers seen at the rails fishing and some just sitting back while their poles were anchored down in holders. I’m not sure if anyone was making a catch while I walked by, tho noticed lots of people strolling past, as they appeared to be checking out the views and the activity of those fishing!
With all due respect, locals may not want the crowds of visitors from the famous Venice Boardwalk to head down yonder en masse. I’d also not want to have to drive a tourbus in the very limited space available to turn around or have to park before the pier.
In essence, the use of the pier and beach are a local amenity, with local beach and restaurant guests able to add the pier to their time spent here.
A local lifeguard tower is situated on the pier, as they’re looking out for the safety of swimmers and surfers. The attendant can also relay problems and call for back-up with their local fire department and the police as necessary.
There’s a large prepaid parking lot available with a public restroom at the foot of the pier. Street parking may be available as per signage at metered spaces.
Long pier jutting out into the Pacific for fishing. You can watch people surf from here, or take in the views of the ocean and the neighboring beaches.
Took a walk down this pier in the morning. I have been on many fishing piers and this one is top quality well built, wide and easy to fish from. It was raining when I was there so unsure how busy this gets on a nice day.
The pier was peaceful. The beach and ocean serene.
Great place for fishing and relax
Don't use the public rest rooms unless you absolutely have to and don't get scared of the screaming g homeless people the view insane tho
